TEUTOPOLIS, Ill. – Convenience store chain Mach 1 added the OpenStore by GasBuddy solution to its website and launched a new smartphone mobile application (app).

The 15-store division of Meyer Oil Co. now offers in-store deals, contests, gas prices, directions to stores, job postings, a customer feedback section and a social media presence on Facebook and Twitter. The mobile app also promotes deals and offers coupons.

"Mach 1 continues to build strong relationships with customers while connecting them via social media and mobile technology," said Alan Meyer, fuel manager for Meyer Oil. "The opportunities are endless for Mach 1. We are excited to be moving ahead with such cutting-edge tools."

Jason Toews, CEO and co-founder of OpenStore by GasBuddy, added that the mobile app component will be a huge marketing opportunity for Mach 1. "Mach 1 is a perfect example of a smaller c-store chain being able to tap into the same possibilities larger c-store chains have with respect to leveraging a brand with innovative and digital tools," he said. "OpenStore is a complete turnkey special technology solution that will provide Mach 1 the ability to reach their customers easily and effectively while building loyalty."

Meyer Oil Co. is a family-owned business that owns or operates all the Mach 1 Food Shops and Mach 1 Car Washes in central and southern Illinois and Indiana. It is a branded fuel supplier for BP, Marathon and ConocoPhillips. All Mach 1 Food Shops sell gasoline under one of these brands plus Meyer Oil distributes branded gasoline to several independent dealers in its trade area.
